I thoroughly enjoy Rachel’s Pilate class. She is very thorough and precise yet gentle and understanding of any impediments her pupils may have (and at my age I have plenty!) and always takes the time to ensure we are comfortable with every exercise. Following the birth of my daughter I was looking to strengthen my core so I could safely return to running. I’m so happy that I found Rachel’s classes as her knowledge of the physiology of the body is thorough, the classes move at an engaging pace and she builds each week upon the previous exercises. As a result my posture is improving, my awareness of my body is developing and most importantly my core is strengthening. Rachel’s classes are very enjoyable, throughout she is both caring and attentive of all her clients. The classes flow well and I always feel that it is a total body experience. New moves are demonstrated and she ensures everyone is positioned correctly and keeps a close eye on progress. Adapting more challenging movements to meet specific, individual needs and skill level when required.

I would encourage anyone thinking of trying Pilates for the first time, or indeed, picking it up again after a break to try Rachel’s classes.  For me they have certainly helped keep my arthritic and ageing body moving and increased my flexibility.  They have also made me aware of how my body should move and the correct movement patterns I should adopt to prevent additional damage. I have been going to Rachel for quite some time now and I really feel that without her classes my lower back would be in an even worse state than it is.  She is an excellent teacher and is very patient and makes sure everyone sticks within their own ability.  If there are things I cannot do because they would aggravate my lower back, she spends the time telling me how to do the exercise differently to protect my back.  The classes are small and relaxed and I have made new friends there.  I have never been one for exercise, which is probably why I have problems now, but I really feel Rachel is helping me moving forward, I just wish I had known about her classes years ago.Linda W

I would like to say that I suffer from a prolapse disc and that since starting Pilates a few weeks ago I have noticed an improvement in my mobility. I am much more aware of my posture and how I move. I would strongly recommend anyone to start Pilates. It’s a very relaxing session and Rachel is a fab teacher who is so calm in her manner and encourages everyone in the class.Louise L
